Dr. Courtney Jacobs is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy for children, adolescents and adults with anxiety and mood disorders and BFRB’s. Her goal is to teach patients tools that they can utilize and maintain throughout their lifetime.
Dr. Courtney Jacobs received her B.A. in Psychology from Chapman University in 1990 and then completed her M.A. and Ph.D. at Alliant University (formerly CSPP) in 1994. She achieved her professional licensure in 1996, and has a maintained a private practice since that time. She previously held the prestigious position of Associate Director of the Child and Adolescent OCD Program at UCLA-NPI.
Dr. Courtney Jacobs is an enthusiastic and caring clinician who works to find what works best for each individual patient. Additionally, she has been SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotion) certified. This is a parent-based program in which children do not have to attend but parents learn how to decease accommodations that feed into their child’s anxiety.
She has three daughters which helps her understand the nuances of children and adolescents. She finds that working with anxiety is very rewarding because she is able to see positive changes in a short amount of time. Her goal is to teach patients skills or tools that they can utilize in the real world.
