Michelle Schmitt is an experienced special education teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience with students with mild to moderate disabilities. Her teaching experience has spanned all grade levels including elementary, junior high, and high school students in both the public and nonpublic settings. Michelle is credentialed through the state of California to teach students with mild/moderate learning disabilities. She also holds credentials for both School Counseling (PPS credential) and teaching English Language Learners (CLAD credential). In addition, she has completed course work and earned an Autism Authorization Certificate through the state. Currently, Michelle is employed as a special education teacher at a local elementary school district. Michelle has been tutoring private students for several years locally.
During Michelle’s long career working with students of all needs, she has learned to recognize and assess each student’s strengths and weaknesses in order to design a personalized approach to tutoring. Her services can help your child work towards proficiency within the framework of the rigorous Common Core Standards. The focus of tutoring sessions will be based on your child’s needs at the elementary and junior high levels.
