Biography

Patrick Lane is a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP) with over 25 years of experience in the field of education, providing assessment, consultation, and educationally related therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Special Education, from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1999. He later completed his Master’s degree in Educational Psychology along with his School Psychology Credential at California State University, Long Beach, in 2004, and became a licensed educational psychologist in 2008.

He began his career in education as a special education teacher with the Los Angeles County Office of Education, where he worked in special day class settings supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities. His early experience included working with students with multiple disabilities and those on the more severe end of the autism spectrum, as well as students with significant emotional and behavioral needs. During this time, he was also completing his graduate training in school psychology, allowing him to integrate both instructional and psychological perspectives in his work.

As a school psychologist, Patrick spent 13 years working with preschool through 8th-grade students in public school settings, supporting individuals with a wide range of learning, developmental, and emotional needs. He also spent four years at a center-based special education school serving students with severe disabilities and complex medical needs. In 2017, he transitioned to the high school setting to broaden his experience, where he continues to work with students across the spectrum—from mild/moderate to moderate/severe needs—while also providing services in the private sector.

His professional passion is rooted in supporting individuals with special needs and helping families better understand their child’s unique learning and developmental profile. He provides comprehensive assessments, educationally related therapeutic services, and consultation to guide families through what can often feel like a complex and overwhelming process.

His connection to this work is both professional and personal. He comes from a family of special education teachers and administrators and was also a student with significant learning disabilities and ADHD. These experiences give him a deep, personal understanding of the challenges that neurodivergent individuals and their families may face. He strives to bring empathy, clarity, and practical guidance to every individual and family he works with, helping them access the support and tools they need to succeed.
